Originally planned as a casino, it opened only as a card room. It was owned by the Sun American Company, which was also known as Maritime Gaming. It was shut down ten months after opening due to mounting uplaid debts. Approximately 150,000 chips were ordered, of which most have entered the chip collecting hobby.
