| The building was originally designed after 1844 and housed a hall upstairs ,used from time to time, by the Prince de Chimay, for popular music concerts at the time. The building decays very quickly and remains unoccupied.
In 1895, after several years of neglect the building, the municipal authorities give it to “ Cercle des Etrangers (the "Circle of Foreigners") ,with alterations and payment of a rent, to create a cercle with rooms for recreation and gambling The official opening of CASINO DES ORMEAUX (Cercle Privé des Etrangers) takes place with great pomp im April 3, 1896 without the presence of inhabitants of Chimay . These were excluded following an agreement signed between the representatives of the cercle and the city.
Unfortunately after much vicissitudes and various scams, including non-payment of rental fees, the Ministry of Justice, will close the doors of the Cercle following a regulation of the casinos in 1902.
Then the building has yet to be abandoned,and since then
had some periods of neglect, and housed various establishments such as a brasserie and a dancing.In 1994 he was installed in the building the Brasserie du Casino, which still exists today.
