Big Jim's Place was originally at 1016 2nd Street, and around 1938 it moved to 316 K Street, at which point it is also called "Big Jim's and Pete's Place". Became the "Gold Nugget Cafe" in 1941 (see "Became").

Mason & Co. sold 3000 of the "J&P" hub mold chips in three colors, first to the Northern Tobacco Co., 618 L Street, Sacramento, CA (on 2/3/1938) and then to Big Jim's Place, 316 K Street, Sacramento CA (on 7/25/1938).
