Since the ban on the casinos in 1946, Brazil has looked down on games of chance. For more than 50 years, Brazilian society has been divided between legalizing games of chance and keeping them banned. The legality of poker is old. Its acceptance is more recent. The fact is that Poker is not considered a game of chance in Brazil. In this type of game the luck has little or no role. It therefore depends on the skill of the player. Poker in Brazil is part of the tolerated games that are not prohibited or regulated. The State does not interfere positively or negatively in its occurrence. The greatest proof of the legality of Poker is its recognition as a sport by the Ministry of Sport in 2012. Poker clubs have flourished like mushrooms since the 2010s. Today there are 7 million poker players across Brazil
