| Aulus opens its first thermal establishment in 1829. To support and pleasure of the bathers, the necessary infrastructure is created, including three hotels. Between 1870 and 1890 Aulus has a sufficiently large thermal activity to suport the instalation of two casinos . For occupancy of the bathers there were several cafes and cercles whit gambling, that continued to operate after the opening of the casinos.
The first casino, the PETIT CASINO ( little casino), also called Cercle de L'Union was installed in the hotel of the same name, and opened in 1877. Later there will be installed there the Hotel Majestic.
In 1882 opens the GRAND CASINO DU PARC.The casino was built by M.Hirscheler, that was the ownner.In 1886 was founded La Societé Generale des Eaux Minerales d´Aulus,which got the direction of the Spa, the Casino,the Grand Hotel and Grand hotel du Park. The first war affect the spa and the second war will ultimately for their decline. The Grand Casino will run until its closure in 1965, being demolished. |
