Restaurant, card room, and illegal bookmaking operation originally owned by Joseph (Joe) D. Yeargain, Jr. He would go on to open "Joe's Club" one block away on "K" Street in 1954. Also called the Empire Cafe".

T. R. King sold more than 14,600 of these large crown chips to the Empire Club, J. D. Yeargain, Jr., 419 K. Street, Sacramento, California, in 1946 and 1948.
