| The Sinaia Casino was built in only one year 1911 - 1912, by initiative of King Carol I of Romania. Opened in 1912. The main shareholder was the Baron of Marçay, a shareholder of Casino de Monte Carlo.The opening of the casino was very important event, attended by The Royal Familiy.The aristocracy arrived every weekend to play roulette, baccarat, etc.
During Comunist Regim, the gambling ceased, The Casino was nationalized in 1948, becoming in 1955 the Culture House of Sinaia Sindicate, and passing in 1978 to the State Protocol . In 1990 was transformed again as Casino until 1995, when once again turned to the State Protocol Administration.
Is now an international conference center. |
