Pool hall and card room originally owned by Jack Tanabe, and later by Ben Hopkins. Frank Yamada managed the card room in 1961. The "Asia Pool Hall" was previously at this address until 1947, and was raided for gambling in 1939.

T. R. King sold 1000 of the large crown chips to Jack Tanabe, Jack's Place, 415 Market Street, San Diego, California, in 1947.

Listing (2nd from top) from the 1976 San Diego Yellow Pages, under "Card Rooms". Note, it was on the same block as the "J & M Card Room".
