Paramé is a former town that merged with Saint Malo in 1967, being now a district of Saint Malo. Grand Casino Paramé was built between 1881 and 1883 by architect Pigott, for the company Societé anonyme de la Baie de Saint-Malo-Paramé. The casino was inaugurated at the beginning of the bathing season of 1883 along the Grand Hotel on the neighboring plot. In 1885, the casino management rights (and the neighboring Grand Hotel) are on-lent to Mr. Bias, former director of the Dieppe casino. Mr. Bias had installed in 1890, between the two buildings, a pavilion that was been on the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878.The interior decor is also modified by the new manager. In 1908, electric lighting is installed in the building. In 1914, the casino is transformed into an emergency hospital . For lack of profitability, the casino was closed in 1934. In poor condition, it was demolished in 1937 and replaced by an apartment building in the 1970s.
