T. R. King shipped 1000 of these "BC" large crown chips in three colors to Irving Tiber on 4/15/1948. Irving Tiber was arrested on bookmaking charges in Ocean Park, CA, in 1946.

The attribution of the "BC" chips to a "Bonzo Club" is traced to Armin Pfaender's California Chip Guide (2004). Pfaender (2023) list dates of operation as being 1965 - 1968. Possibly a mis-attribution.
